Being my first spring in D.C. I decided to venture out and check out the cherry blossoms. I also had recently gotten a new wide angle lens for the camera so this was the perfect opportunity to test it out. These particular blossoms are from the Weeping Cherry Tree at the Smithsonian Castle in Washington D.C.

I woke up this morning to a wonderland of snow, it was quite great actually! I eagerly anticipated the blizzard that the east coast was expecting and the wait was well worth it! I had to work today and unfortunately had to have my dad drive me in because my adorable little car couldn’t make it up the hill. On our way home we had the camera and decided to take our time and see what pictures I could get.
This was taken along the creek and just converted to a B&W, I adjusted the contrast slightly. I was hoping to channel my inner Ansel Adams with this shot. His photos are amazing and I could only hope to be half as good as he is.

The beach is one of my favorite places to be…I love the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. This is a shot from my vacation on the gulf coast in Florida this past summer. Enjoy!

I was out for lunch one day with one my favorite girls and decided to go early and take a few minutes taking photos. I shot this outside of the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg…This is along the side that is the brewery part of the building and the old windows are cemented over.
It’s a very cool place to eat and drink with friends or family. I highly recommend making a visit!

On my way home the other evening I noticed something in the middle of the road trying to hop/fly across. I stopped and realized it was a baby bird with a broken wing! I scooped him up, looked for a nest and couldn’t find his home so I took him home and called the local wildlife rehabilitation center. He lived in shoebox for one night and then was taken to a safe place to recover.
I did some research and found out he was a baby tufted titmouse. He was adorable and I hope he is happy and healthy!

Yesterday my boyfriend and I ordered sandwiches from Anile’s in Boiling Springs. While we were waiting we stopped by the lake and I was able to catch this shot. I took about 100 photos but this one was my favorite. It seemed to be bath day for all the birds there, dunking under the water and then rubbing their feathers with their beaks. The perfect way to spend a hot afternoon.

Life continues all around us…I planted pansy seeds in this kettle last summer and only a few little plants grew. I figured they would die over the winter since they weren’t in the ground and the kettle would most likely freeze but they surprised me. These pansies are a lot stronger than I gave them credit for because they are happy and thriving.

On my way home from my last class of the semester I stopped through Middletown and passed this cemetery. I thought with the magnolia tree, the sunset and the cemetery that it was too beautiful a shot to pass up.

As my mom and I were driving home from a trip to Mannings in East Berlin we came upon this house! We are still not sure whether it is a shop or a home (because there isn’t a sign or anything) but we thought it was too great to pass up for a picture. Enjoy, xoxo
