Being my first spring in D.C. I decided to venture out and check out the cherry blossoms. I also had recently gotten a new wide angle lens for the camera so this was the perfect opportunity to test it out. These particular blossoms are from the Weeping Cherry Tree at the Smithsonian Castle in Washington D.C.

During my trip to Florida I visited the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. It was a gorgeous place that showcased thousands of beautiful flowers. The humidity in the greenhouse cause some fog on the lens but I think it gives it an ethereal touch.

Every time I look at this picture I think of Alice in Wonderland when the flowers dance and sing. It may seem funny but it makes me happy to look at the pansies’ little faces.
This is my Happy New Year picture because I don’t have any special celebration ones.
On that note, I hope everyone’s new year is filled with happy faces.

Lilies come in all different varieties and I can’t say I have a favorite. I tend to love them all, it’s my favorite flower. The one pictured above is a Casablanca Lily, they get large flowers and have a very aromatic scent. Perfect to bring into the house to make it smell nice! Lilies amaze me because of the variety of color and sizes that they come in, plus they are more unique than a rose. I’d much rather get a lily than a rose.

This past summer I had quite a few vacations and one of them included a trip to Washington D.C. I went to the Smithsonian to see the Gem exhibit and was excited to find out that they had a “Butterfly House”. For only six dollars I had the chance to go walk among hundreds of butterflies and it was amazing. All of them fluttering around and landing on you here and there.
I love this picture because of how vivid the colors are and how the butterfly barely pops out. Hope you like it! xoxo

This is my all time favorite shot. I love how the mums looking like they’re reaching up to touch the sun. I believe they are the Hannah Mums
